Copy Portfolio
Copy is writing meant to sell a product or service and is meant to persuade.
The most persuasive you can be is to share your motivation, your personal experiences, and what you're doing every day to work toward your bigger vision with your business.
I've worked as a freelancer for a few years now and taken on my own clients all in the pursuit of putting more heart into marketing via social media, newsletters, blogs, podcast show notes, and more.

Demographic Analysis for Product Marketing
When interviewing for my internship with Imagine Better Solutions, I produced this piece on spec. I only chose one paragraph to highlight here, but please contact me for the entire document.

My assignment entailed researching how to market sustainable period products to girls and women ages 14-40 and to compile a document on how and on which platforms we should market these products to each demographic.

Social Media: Nummy Land Instagram
02
For a Canadian THC-infused gummy company, I wrote their Instagram bio and their posts.
I took the same voice and energy from the company's website and used it to make their social media more cohesive with their brand. I also researched how to properly and legally market a controlled substance on social media and implemented those rules in creating and writing for this account.

Website Copy:
About Page
Here I rewrote an About Page for a Canadian Immigration Law and Family Law Attorney.
I made the page more approachable and relevant for her potential clients by putting her explanation of why she chose her two areas of law first. This way a potential client can quickly see if her reasoning resonates with their idea of someone who could represent their case well. Then, later on down the page, I go into her background of what she has done in the areas of law to reinforce her reasoning and add to her credibility.

Website Copy: Who We Are Page
A Who We Are page for a website differs from an About Me page in that it really speaks to the core values of your business and why it started. Your About Me is more personal and speaks to your credibility but doesn't necessarily speak to the soul of your business.
These pages should compliment each other, but not be same.

Here, this page belongs to the same website as the example before of the Canadian attorney where it focuses on her practice instead of her personal background.

05
Web Copy: Research
This page, a specific area of law the Canadian attorney practices, required research into what was involved in immigration law and the benefits of hiring an attorney when having to do immigration paperwork.

This section of the website demonstrates that I can quickly research and deduce key information for potential customers while still delivering the information in a clear and approachable way.

Client and Projects
This client, a veterinary clinic, wanted web pages dedicated to their AAHA accreditation and Fear Free Certification.
For the Fear Free Certification, I was provided a poster that was previously used and converted that information to a web page.
The AAHA Accreditation involved more research into what being AAHA accredited means and how it affects how a vet cares for its furry patients.

How I Created Projects
These projects involved research into the accreditations and certifications that the vet client holds but also involved my having to think how this copy would be best presented on a web page for someone looking for the best vet for a very important part of their family, their pet.

To deliver good copy that would work well on a web page, something that most viewers skim, I provided the web designer I worked with the key points in multiple arrangements including bullet point, small paragraphs, and short and long form lists. This allowed him to pick and choose the best formats for the web page and also to provide two ways of taking in the information, bullet points for fast skimming and short paragraphs for more invested readers.
